Kundalini Yoga for CreativityKundalini Yoga & Meditation with Rocio
What is Kundalini Yoga?
Kundalini Yoga is an ancient technology used to awaken and expand consciousness. Kundalini, symbolized as a sleeping serpent at the base of the spine, is awakened and raised up the spine by the union of Prana (life force energy) and Apana (eliminating energy) activating the Chakras (energy centers). The practice of Pranayama (breathing exercises), Bhandas (body locks), Kriyas (yoga sequences), Mudra (hand positions) and Mantra (chants) activates and directs our cosmic energy to fully realize our creative potential and experience our soul’s true purpose here on earth.
Kundalini for Creativity
I see all beings as innately creative. However, the stress of life’s challenges makes it easy to forget our creative power. As we run around fulfilling other’s expectations, we are left feeling depleted. The practice of yoga helps to uncover our inner radiance and bliss by tapping into source energy. I love teaching creatives how to direct the Kundalini energy to wake up and become open to receive divine inspiration, quiet doubts and fears of the negative mind, and stimulate the inner energy to necessary to sustain a creative art practice. The relaxing and restorative benefits of Kundalini yoga are the perfect antidote for the busy and stressful challenges of the creative professional.
I love guiding people at all stages of their yoga journey with the following classes:
• Kundalini for Beginners: the basic elements of a Kundalini practice, focusing on the classic kriyas.
• Kundalini for Creativity: combines energetic asana, meditation, pranayam, mantra, and mudra to elevate consciousness and inspire creative passion.
• Restorative Yoga: tune into moon energy with receptive, yin based asana, pranayam and meditation to achieve deep relaxation and healing.
My 14 year yoga journey has included practice in hatha based ‘Heart of Yoga’ with Mark Whitwell and ashtanga based ‘Power Yoga’ with Bryan Kest. I found my spiritual home in Kundalini yoga as taught by Yogi Bhajan, receiving my IKYTA certification in Kundalini yoga from Golden Bridge Yoga. My beloved teachers Gurmukh and Gurushabd travel the world inspiring others to become their own teacher. From them, I have learned that a great teacher is one who lives the teachings. My spiritual name, Surinderjoti Kaur, means “Lioness who experiences her divine consciousness through the beautiful light, music, and rhythm of her soul.” I am devoted to fulfilling this destiny.
